Apple Crisp

Hello! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! We had a fabulous day. It was so wonderful to be out and social again for the first time in awhile since beginning our seemingly never ending home projects. I got the chance to bake for the first time in forever and I decided to made a delicious apple crisp! It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Yum!

Grab your ingredients and your favorite cup of tea and lets get to baking!

You'll need:
4-5 Granny Smith Apples
5-6 Tablespoons COLD Butter
 Juice Of Half A Lemon
2/3 Heaping Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Heaping Cup Rolled Oats (Not Instant)
1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
A Pinch Of Salt
A Couple Dashes Of Cinnamon (To Your Taste)
1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts (Either Pecans Or Walnuts Are Best)

Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While your waiting, go ahead and chop the apples and cut your lemon in half.
If your wondering, I'm drinking Stash Ginger Peach Green tea! It's delicious if you have not tried it.

Once you have your apples all chopped, take half of the lemon and squeeze it allllll over your apples.

Next, take a heaping tablespoon of your brown sugar and some cinnamon (I just dusted a little over the top of the apples, no particular amount, I just love cinnamon in an apple crisp), and toss your apples all together until they are coated.

Now its time to blend in your dry ingredients with the butter. Add all the dry into your food processor (I had to do mine in two batches because my processor is teeny tiny and 28 years old!), and give it a few pulses with your very cold butter. Also add in a few dashes of cinnamon if you so desire. You want the mix to be clumpy at the end, but blended. Avoid over processing.

Spread out all the crumbly, delicious topping onto the apples, and place in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the apples are hot and bubbling and the crust is a nice golden brown.

Just like this! Now, grab a bowl and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream and enjoy!

As always, I hope you all enjoyed this recipe and I hope you try it at home! Let me know how yours turns out!
