My fiance & I cannot believe that our wedding week is already here! Seriously, where has the last year gone? Seems like only a few months ago he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. That will forever be one of my absolute favorite moments in my life thus far. I couldn't tell you what he said to me before he popped the question, all I know was he asked, and I said yes! I don't think he could tell you what he said either!
During our engagement year, we became closer as a couple. We learned how to really work with one another, through hard times, and financial times. Our communication also improved tremendously. We also learned how to ask the right questions and how to discuss long term goals and plans for our lives.
The last year has been an absolute whirlwind. Stressful, but yet by far one of my favorite years. The last month and a half I have been overwhelmed with so much joy seeing everything coming together. To add to that, there has been an abundance of amazing things that have been happening as well!
In the last month and a half, one of my very best friends got married. I was so honored to be a part of her big day, and to be standing by her side. I cannot wait until she gets here to stand next to me on our big day! I remember her telling me when I was there, how overwhelmed with happiness she was the whole week. I thought to myself, I probably won't be overwhelmed with happiness until the day of the wedding. Boy, was I wrong. I find myself getting so happy I start getting teary when I get good news. It's a great thing, but I also feel so ridiculous!
One of my best friends from high school also came to visit right after I returned from the wedding. We had such an amazing time together. We sat by the pool, ate at one of my fiance & I's favorite beach restaurants, and went for a stroll downtown! It was amazing seeing her for the first time in over a year! I had missed her dearly!
Also in the last month and a half, we went to a family reunion for my fiance's side of the family. We went to Helen, Georgia. Helen is one of our favorite places we have visited. This was our second time visiting. While we were there, we got to see his brother, his wife & kids. We hadn't seen them in a year! The kids had grown so much and we had the most amazing time at the reunion with them! (And the rest of the family too, of course!)
Anna Ruby Falls, left. Duke Falls, right. You can sort of see the falls in the lower left corner!
Our sweet little cabin! It was really spacious, but it looks really small!
More great things that happened this last month in a half include: Two of our friends finding out they were pregnant, one friend coming home from deployment, and a few of our friends super fun birthday parties!
As you can see, the months/weeks leading up to our wedding have been so amazing. Despite them being super busy with work for both of us, and finishing planning the wedding, we are doing amazing and cannot wait to be officially married in a week! Here's to many years of happiness, and the next time I write, we will officially be husband & wife!
Thanks for hanging in there with me through this long post! Love y'all.
